‘Rebecca creates a warm and welcoming space for all those she interacts with in the studio. Using the many diverse skills at her fingertips, she drives exploration and courage within her students with the spirit and kindness of a friend’

A range of settings and techniques

Teaching and facilitation has always been a fundamental part of Rebecca’s practice as a Dance Artist. She has taught technique class in schools, community centres, universities, vocational training institutions and private dance schools as well as to professional dancers.

She specialises in teaching contemporary dance technique, and also leads creative sessions in solo and group improvisation, contact improvisation for beginners, and techniques for task-based devising and choreography.

Rebecca’s technique class draws on her dance training in Cunningham Technique and somatic practices, and is further informed by her experience of improvisation, release-based technique and floor work as a professional dancer. Her movement experiences are interwoven and integrated into her delivery of technique class.

She has also recently devised and delivered a teacher training course for dance artists who wish to work in community settings, sharing her experiences as a facilitator with a passion for non-hierarchical creative processes and positive group dynamics.

Rebecca also completed 250 hours Foundation Teacher Training Plus with the Contemporary School of Yoga in 2017.
